　抽象絵画鑑賞の入門書。作者の知識には敬服するが、抽象絵画をかえって難しくしているように思える。ダビンチや、ミケランジェロを見るときにその絵の背景を知るのが役立つ程度には、抽象絵画を見るときの知識としておもしろい。

　しかし、抽象、具象を問わず、説明されることが必要なのだろうか。勿論著者はそれで糧を得ているわけではあるが。絵画（芸術）は、壁紙やテーブルクロスと同じではいけないのだろうか。ファインアートへのこだわりがわからない。美術館に行って、目を肥やすことがどれだけ必要なのだろう。わたしは、テーブルクロスや壁紙、そしてそれに付いているシミの方が大切だと思っている。

⟨impressions⟩

An introductory book on viewing abstract paintings. I admire the author’s knowledge, but it seems to make abstract painting more difficult. To the extent that it is useful to know the background of the painting when looking at Da Vinci or Michelangelo, it is interesting as knowledge when looking at abstract paintings.

However, is it necessary to be explained regardless of whether it is abstract or concrete? Of course, the author is getting some food from it. Shouldn’t painting (art) be the same as wallpaper or tablecloths? I don’t understand the commitment to fine art. How much do you need to go to a museum and get a good eye? I think tablecloths, wallpaper, and the stains on them are more important.
