"Pour Marx"、英語では"For Marx"、ドイツ語では"Für Marx"、日本版は『マルクスのために』（旧訳『甦るマルクス』）。翻訳のプロが訳しているんだから、間違いはないと思うんだけど、なんか違和感があります。というのも「〜のために」という日本語は、暗に「〜した（してやった）」んだから「〜してくれよ」というのが続きます。
例えば、"Für Elise"という有名なベートベンの曲は『エリーゼのために』と訳されていますが、それは「エリーゼ、君の曲を書いてやったんだから、付き合ってくれよ」という意味が含まれてしまうと思うのです。たしかに、ベートーベンは「エリーゼ（テレーゼ）」を愛していたかもしれないし、当然付き合いたい・結婚したいと思ったかもしれないのですが、ベートーベンの一途な（？）キモチからすると（この曲が書かれたのは40歳前後。ほぼ全聾だったという。ベートベンはテレーゼの妹と付き合っていたという説もあります。）そういう下心があったとしても、ストレートに表現したかどうかは分りません。それで私は、「エリーゼに捧ぐ」ぐらいの訳が良いのではないかと思うのです。これなら「尊敬してるよん（敬意を払ってるよ）」という意味になりますよね。たとえ下心があったとしても（笑）。
"Pour"＝”For"＝”Für”ではありませんし、"Pour"は一般的な前置詞ですから、様々な解釈が可能です。ただ、本の題名にする時にはある程度意味が決まっていると思うのです。20年前には「マルクスについて」くらいの意味だと書きました。この本の場合、「のために」でもいいのですが、相手のMarxは半世紀以上前に死んでいますから、Althusserを褒めてくれるわけでも、批判してくれるわけでもありません。AlthusserはMarxに対して下心はないのです(^_^;)。それで、いまでは"Pour"を「捧ぐ」という意味に採ったらいいのではないかと思っています。"Pour"にはそういう意味や用法もあるらしいのです。それなら、尊敬の意だけになりますよね。どうでしょうか。
余談ですが、『資本論』（正確には『資本』でしょうが、本のタイトルなので流通している名前でいいと思います。むしろ『政治経済学批判』という副題をしっかり広めたい。）はヴィルヘルム・ヴォルフに捧げられています。マルクスより9歳年上の活動家です。で、「ささげる」はどう書かれているかというと"Für Wilhelm Wolff"ではありません。"Gewidmet"という言葉を使っています。フランス語版や英語版の初版も見ましたが（東北大学附属図書館。今は便利ですね。ネットで見れてしまいます。）、この献辞はないようです。
