絶好のフーコー入門書。読みやすい。かといって内容が薄いわけではない。入門書に徹して、著者の見解をほとんど書いていないのも好感が持てる。お薦め。

A great introduction to Foucault. Easy to read. However, the content is not thin. I also like the fact that he is devoted to the introductory book and hardly writes the author's views. Recommended.

桜井哲夫（さくらいてつお）
1949年生まれ。東京外国語大学卒業。東京大学大学院社会科学研究科博士課程修了。現在、東京経済大学コミュニケーション学部教授。近・現代社会史、現代社会論専攻。著書に『ことばを失った若者たち』『〈自己責任〉とは何か』『フーコー知と権力』（以上講談社）、『TV魔法のメディア』『不良少年』（以上筑摩書房）などがある。
