手塚治虫（テヅカ オサム）
1928年、大阪府豊中市に生まれ、兵庫県宝塚市で育つ。大阪大学付属医学専門部を卒業後、医学博士号を取得。1946年、「マアチャンの日記帳」で漫画家デビュー。1962年には『ある街角の物語』でアニメーション作家としてもデビューする。おもな作品に、漫画では 『ジャングル大帝』『鉄腕アトム』その他多数、アニメーションでは『展覧会の絵』『ジャンピング』その他多数あり、全400巻の『手塚治虫漫画全集』（講談社）も刊行された。宝塚市には手塚治虫記念館がある。1989年に死去。
